Thank you to everyone who commented on last week's post, "What do you know about New Zealand." We found out some very interesting things about New Zealand:

- 40% of Maori children live in one parent homes.

- Lord of the Rings was filmed here. (So awesome.)

- The first man to reach the peak of Mt. Everest was a New Zealander and his face is now on the New Zealand $5 bill.

- The Kea is a parrot-like bird that eats rubber from cars. (That's different. I am intrigued. I must YouTube this.)

- For each person who lives in New Zealand, it produces 100 kg of butter and 65 kg of cheese each year.

These are solid facts about the country you are going to. As for everyone who said they no nothing, that's fine because you will, especially while you are in the country.

----------------------------------------

Now, let's devulge a little deeper into your country. What I would like to ask is what problems does New Zealand face? Are there factors that make everyday living very difficult? Are they environmental? Political? Ethnic and Social? Religious?

Let's see what we can find and report our findings back here. If you are stuck, try a news site. They are usually great for country information as well as the most up-to-date issues affecting where you are going.
